Breed descirption
Staffordshire bull terriers are a self-confident, brave, happy, intelligent, loyal, stubborn, caring, active and inquisitive breed of dog. Steve Eltinge described them "Since the morning wake up till the night silence, Stafford enjoys life fully". Staffordshire bull terriers require a close contact with their owner, they are tolerant of other animals if socialised from a early age. They love to compete with other dogs, hence their great interest in the game of "tug-of-war." They are friendly and patient with children. In situations where other dogs can lose patience and to react with aggression, Staffordshire Bull Terriers keep quiet or just leave. This is why Staffordshire Bull Terriers get their nickname of the English "Nanny Dog." Staffordshire Bull Terriers are usually not considered suitable for guard dogs as they are usually friendly towards strangers. They easily adapt to family life in either the city or the countryside, Staffordshire Bull Terriers are the perfect family dog.
